These are the rules of the Dorset Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Master Mason’s Prize Ball Draw.

  1. Each number will cost £2.00 per month.
  2. Payment will be made by Standing Order or Bank Transfer, monthly, quarterly, six monthly or annually.
  3. Numbers will be allocated by the Provincial Grand Charity Steward in numerical order, in order of application and payment.
  4. Members can purchase as many numbers as they wish to.
  5. Numbers can only be purchased by members or close family and friends.
  6. Any member in arrears of their fees will immediately cease to be eligible for any future draws in respect of the relevant number(s). These number(s) may be issued to others.
  7. Forty (40) percent of all receipts will be allocated to the prize fund.
  8. There will be 12 draws per annum and the number of live numbers at each draw will determine the prize level for each subsequent draw. One prize per fifty tickets sold.
  9. The draw will take place on the second Saturday of every month. During the current situation this will be at the monthly zoom meeting.
  10. After running expenses attributable to the prize draw are deducted, the remainder of receipts will be allocated to the General fund of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Dorset and further distributed by and at the discretion of the Dorset Provincial Grand Mark Lodge Benevolent fund committee.
  11. Winnings will be transferred or posted to the winners as soon as possible after each draw.
  12. A register of members will be held by the Provincial Grand Charity Steward.
  13. Members will receive a letter, or email, from the Provincial Grand Charity Steward confirming their number(s) allocated upon receipt of their first payment.
  14. The Prize Draw monies will be held by the Provincial Grand Treasurer who will receive all payments by Standing Order or Bank Transfer for each number allocated, for the payment of the prize money, and the payment of necessary expenses.
  15. The Prize Draw account will be examined annually by two auditors nominated at the Annual Provincial meeting and included in the annual Treasurer’s report for the Dorset Mark Benevolent Fund.
  16. The Provincial Grand Charity Steward, with the approval of the Dorset Provincial Grand Mark Lodge Benevolent Fund Committee, reserves the right to change the rules of the scheme at any time. Due notice will of course be given.
